New Curtiss-Wright factory being opened at Columbus. Army officers and other VIPs inspecting the plant. Shows aircraft workers working in the plant. A new SO3C-1 Seamew aircraft equipped with fixed gear and wheel pants, is rolled out on the factory floor for the VIPs to examine. (Note: Curtiss SO3C-1 aircraft with fixed landing gear and wheel pants, were ordered by the British Royal Navy Fleet Arm, under Lend-Lease. The company and the Royal Navy called them the "Seamew." But, the U.S. Navy called their observation floatplane version the "Seagull," the same as the biplane it replaced.)
